Overview

Economic vitality is the result of a “healthy” economy characterized by low poverty levels, high and stable employment levels, a variety of businesses, and sustained investments. In this section, we observe the following indicators of economic vitality in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties: business characteristics, employment, housing statistics, income statistics, and industry characteristics.

Each indicator can assist policy makers, businesses, and other segments of our society in expanding awareness of key and growing industries in our region, employment, household income and wealth, and workforce needs in particular fields. These indicators will aid decisions regarding where to allocate budgets, investments, services, and improvements within our communities. This way, both local leaders and community members will be able to maintain and expand the economic vitality of our region, providing opportunity and prosperity for all our residents.
